Act NOW by Grundfos continue the dialogue on a number of projects, that Danish companies can participate in, bringing their green technologies and knowledge to the Middle East.
A delegation of 19 people recently visited Dubai with many new ideas, new opportunities for cooperation and new export opportunities – all working for a more sustainable tomorrow.
Act NOW by Grundfos and The Danish Consulate in Dubai organized a very exciting program, which facilitated these Danish Companies to engage in a dialogue with local developers, architects, Dubai's utility Center DEWA and the famous former national football player Ebbe Sand, and his project to build a large Sustainable Sports Academy in Dubai.
The study tour started with a visit to Dubai South, a new neighborhood of 145 km2, which will house the world largest airport with capacity for 220 million passengers annually, 1 million inhabitants, 500,000 jobs, a complete infrastructure - directly at the Expo 2020 area.
In comparison, Dubai's existing airport managed 4 million passengers in 2013, and they expect the number to increase to 27 million passengers by 2017. So it is a huge expansion planned. Sustainability is one of six main themes, the emphasis is on when the district to be developed.
After the visit to Dubai South went to Expo 2020. Expo 2020 expect 25 million. visitors with a peak of 60,000 visitors at one time and expect 13,800 people in the metro/hour. It builds 4 metro stations to the Expo 2020 to handle the many visitors. They work with three main themes:
- Opportunity - new industry, new jobs and educational institutions,
financial capital, etc..
- Sustainability - ecosystem, biodiversity, resources, climate challenges,
- Mobility - transport, logistics systems, personal mobility, digital
