Grundfos teach university students on Solar trends

22nd November marked the Solar Day at Amity University, New Campus in Dubai. For this reason Grundfos was pleased to be the guest speaker teaching the students about Current trends in Solar Pumping.

Feroz Khan Mohammed, Product Manager for water supply, spoke about the new off-grid IP66 Solar Inverter (RSI), designed to meet the challenges in regards to the availability of power and increased costs of irrigating the crops. The launch came during the Middle East’s first SOLAR SHOW, part of the WETEX 2016 exhibition held between 4-6 October in Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is in charge of developing renewables in the emirate and aims to have 7 percent of Dubai’s generation from renewables by 2020.

The new RSI introduced by Grundfos converts traditionally powered SP submersible pump irrigation systems into modern solar powered installations, not only making the water supply system self-reliant and independent, but also cut operating cost substantially in a sector where profitability is a key factor.
