Shortly after the turn of the year, Grundfos will once more be the main sponsor of an important sports event, this time the European Championship in male handball taking place in Switzerland.
This is another step in Grundfos’ strategy of using important sports events as an efficient way to show Grundfos’ name and trademark for a large audience.
Grundfos is pleased to be the official sponsor of the Championship tournament, held in six Swiss towns from 26 January to 5 February. In 2005 Grundfos had good experiences from being the main sponsor of the World Championship in female handball in Russian St. Petersburg and so it is natural to continue in this direction.
All those with whom Grundfos has made agreements are characterised by being the best in their respective fields – in line with Grundfos’ values of Be, Think, Innovate.
Male handball is followed with great interest in many countries in Europe. The organisers expect more than 100,000 people to follow the game with the sticky ball in the sports halls, whereas more than 400m viewers have the opportunity to see more than 400 hours of direct television from the finals.
The preliminary matches will be played in St. Gallen, Basle, Berne and Sursee, whereas the semi-finals and the finals will be played in St. Gallen, Basle and Zurich. The hosts expect a full house for the decisive matches, i.e. an audience of some 11,500 people will be watching.
